MY STRENGTHS
I believe strength-based leadership is when a strong leader takes a role using what he/she excels at and puts it to good use. For example, if said leader has a strength in communication because they are an extrovert. Meaning they are a very social out going person, very easy to talk to. This said leader will us communication to their advantage to help them lead.
For a leader to lead with their strengths is the ultimate leadership. Its just like the aspect of deciding on a career. Everyone tells you the same thing, pick something you are good at practice and excel. Odds are if you are good at something 9/10 times said person enjoys doing it. Meaning they do it frequently and practice a lot which in time leads to honing skills and perfecting.
My Myers Briggs code is ENTP My 3 favorite strengths out of this test are Thinking, Intuitive, and turbulent. It’s ironic that thinking is one of my strengths. My friends always tell me I over think everything! But you can never think to much, that’s just working out your brain. I was not surprised that intuition was one of my strengths I use intuition every day in physics class. One of my strengths being turbulent threw me off. However, I’m not a very assertive person I do enjoy sitting back and listening to what other people have to say then taking what I absorbed and basing my decision on that. The Myers Briggs pretty much nailed it on the head listing what I believed were all my strengths and then some. I am most proud of my thinking strength being a brainy guy thinking is very important.
